Light cleansing and makeup can be done from the next day
From the day after treatment, you may wash your face lightly and wear makeup. However, be gentle when cleansing and avoid rubbing the treated areas harshly.
Temporary reactions are a natural process
After treatment, redness, swelling, bruising, or slight bumpiness may appear. These are normal signs of skin regeneration and usually subside naturally within a few days.
Sun protection is essential
To protect sensitive skin and prevent pigmentation, always apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) carefully when going outdoors after treatment.
Moisturizing and regeneration care are important
Apply enough hydrating cream or a regenerating cream to prevent dryness. Keeping the skin moisturized supports collagen regeneration and enhances treatment results.
Avoid activities that irritate the skin
For at least one week, avoid saunas, hot baths, intense exercise, or using scrubs, as these may irritate the treated area.
Refrain from alcohol and smoking
Alcohol and smoking may cause inflammation and interfere with collagen production, so it is recommended to refrain from them for at least one week to ensure healthy recovery.
Don't forget the most important '5-5-5 massage'!
To prevent clumping and allow Sculptra to spread evenly for natural results, massage is essential. Gently massage the treated areas in circular motions 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each, for 5 days.
What is the difference between Sculptra and regular fillers?
The biggest difference lies in the mechanism. Regular fillers (hyaluronic acid) fill the volume immediately upon injection, giving instant results. In contrast, Sculptra stimulates your body's own collagen production, gradually restoring volume over several months. If fillers are about "filling," Sculptra is closer to "building."
When do the results appear, and how long do they last?
Right after treatment, the area may look fuller due to water content, but this subsides within a few days. From about 4–6 weeks, the injected PLLA begins stimulating collagen production, and the effects gradually appear, reaching their peak in 3–6 months. The newly formed collagen volume is the biggest advantage of Sculptra, as it typically lasts more than 2 years.
I've heard that nodules can occur as a side effect. Should I be worried?
Nodules may occur if the PLLA particles do not spread evenly and clump together. At DERNA, we minimize this risk by diluting the product to the exact concentration and having highly experienced doctors inject it precisely into the correct skin layer. In addition, by following the "5-5-5 massage" after treatment, you can safely achieve natural and satisfying results without worrying about nodules.

Unlike fillers that simply add volume, Sculptra is a "collagen-stimulating injection" that delivers PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) into the skin to promote natural collagen production. Over time, it restores volume gradually while improving skin elasticity, helping you regain a healthy, youthful appearance. Without an artificial look, it creates the most natural volume by enhancing your skin's own regenerative power.
