Temporary increase in redness
For 2-3 days after the treatment, you may experience increased redness or slight swelling, and treated blood vessels may appear darker. This is a positive sign that the vessels are being effectively treated, and it will naturally subside within a few days.
Avoid heat stimuli
To prevent recurrence of redness, it's crucial to avoid activities that can cause facial flushing, such as saunas, hot baths, intense exercise, spicy food, and alcohol, for at least one week.
Sunscreen and moisturization
UV rays are a major trigger for vascular irritation. Be sure to apply sunscreen thoroughly when going outside, and use regeneration and moisturizing creams that help strengthen the skin barrier.
Gentle cleansing
For the first week after the treatment, avoid physical exfoliants like scrubs. Cleanse gently with a mildly acidic cleanser to protect the skin.
Is laser treatment really necessary for redness treatment?
While temporary redness can be alleviated with soothing care, chronic redness or visible blood vessels are a result of the "blood vessels" in the skin being permanently enlarged. In such cases, it's difficult to improve just with skincare products. Laser treatment, which selectively targets and destroys these enlarged vessels while strengthening the skin barrier, provides the most fundamental solution.
There seems to be more than one treatment option. How is it decided?
After a thorough skin assessment, we propose the optimal solution by combining treatments. For example, if visible blood vessels are a concern, we may suggest Excel V Plus, while if inflammation and a weak skin barrier are issues, Potenza may be the focus of the treatment plan. Choosing the right equipment based on the underlying cause is our key strength.
Will my skin become more sensitive after redness treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red or feel sensitive for a short time—this is a normal part of the recovery process, so there’s no need to worry. Our goal is not only to treat the blood vessels, but also to strengthen the skin barrier. Once the treatment is complete, your skin will be healthier and less prone to redness, even when exposed to external stimuli.

Facial redness isn’t just about a flushed appearance. It’s the result of dilated blood vessels combined with a weakened skin barrier. That’s why DERNA doesn’t rely on a single treatment approach. We tailor a personalized plan by optimally combining vascular lasers with different wavelengths and radiofrequency devices that strengthen the skin barrier, based on each individual’s condition. By targeting visible redness while reducing the risk of recurrence, we offer a fundamental, long-term solution for calmer, healthier-looking skin.
