How to Eliminate Wrinkles Around the Eyes | Botox, Rejuran I, and Eye Shurink
2026-08-05
The skin around the eyes is thin and dry, and due to frequent use of facial muscles, wrinkles appear first.
The necessary care varies depending on whether the cause is muscle, skin, or sagging, so an accurate diagnosis is needed.
Botox can be used for facial muscles, Rejuran I for the thin skin, and Eye Shurink for sagging fascia to provide customized care based on the cause.
Hello, this is Derna Clinic.
There are moments around 3 PM when you hesitate to touch up your makeup, which you carefully completed in the morning. You notice that your makeup has settled into the fine lines around your eyes. Even if you try to smooth it out with your fingers, it only works temporarily, and the texture looks even more dull. This isn't just due to your condition; it's a sign that the skin itself is gradually becoming fatigued, resulting in wrinkles around the eyes.
Today, I would like to explain why fine lines around the eyes tend to form easily and what solutions Derna Clinic offers to improve these wrinkles.
Why Do Wrinkles Form Around the Eyes First?
The skin around our eyes is the most active yet delicate area of our face. If you consistently notice that only the wrinkles around your eyes stand out, it's not just in your head. This is due to the inherent 'vulnerability' of the skin around the eyes.
👉 Reason 1: Skin Layer Thinner than Paper
The skin around the eyes is about 3 to 4 times thinner than the average facial skin. Because the cushioning is so thin, even a slight loss of elasticity can cause wrinkles to form quickly, like crumpled paper.
👉 Reason 2: Constant Movement of 'Facial Muscles'
We blink our eyes over 20,000 times a day. Every smile, frown, and blink causes the thin skin to fold and unfold, ultimately making the skin remember those lines.
👉 Reason 3: A Desert Lacking Sebaceous Glands
The area around the eyes has very few sebaceous glands, making it perpetually dry. Just like a drought-stricken field cracks, the lack of moisture leads to the formation of wrinkles around the eyes.
What Kind of Care is Needed for Eye Wrinkles?
Wrinkles around the eyes caused by these complex factors require comprehensive management that addresses the skin's surface, inner layers, and muscle movements, rather than relying on just one 'device.' Derna Clinic offers a concentrated solution for your sensitive eye area.
💛Botox
This step gently calms the 'facial muscles,' which are a major cause of deep wrinkles around the eyes. It helps to softly relax the muscles that crumple the skin and create lines. In particular, we offer various types of Botox, such as Coretox and Xeomin, tailored to individual skin conditions.
These options help improve fine lines around the eyes without making your expressions look unnatural.
💛Rejuran I
This step strengthens the foundation of the thin skin around the eyes, which is as thin as paper. Rejuran I is a specialized product with a lower viscosity than Rejuran Healer, designed specifically for the delicate areas around the eyes and mouth. It injects PN components extracted from salmon DNA into the dermal layer around the eyes to improve damaged skin tissue. As a result, the thin skin around the eyes gradually thickens, and you can expect to see improvements in fine lines over time.
💛Eye Shurink
This treatment uses a thin and precise 'eye tip' designed specifically for the eye area, delivering ultrasound energy closely to the contours around the eyes to lift the fascia layer of sagging skin. It is often used for wrinkles caused by sagging under the eyes or drooping outer corners, and you can expect a more defined eye appearance after the treatment.
Changes You Can Expect When Eye Wrinkles Improve
When wrinkles around the eyes improve, you will definitely notice a difference when looking in the mirror or taking photos. The first thing you will feel is that your eyes look brighter and clearer. As fine lines and sagging are smoothed out, your natural eye shape becomes more defined. Additionally, as the skin surface becomes more even, the dull shadows under your eyes will diminish, and you can expect a clearer impression.
Ultimately, the treatment for eye wrinkles is a process of strengthening the foundation so that the natural expressions that occur when you smile do not leave deep traces on your face. A healthy-looking eye area from any angle is the point of care that Derna Clinic aims for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the price for eye wrinkle treatments?
Eye wrinkle care varies in approach and purpose, such as Botox, Rejuran I, and Eye Shurink, so the cost differs based on which treatment you choose and how many sessions you undergo. The necessary combination also varies depending on whether the wrinkles are caused by facial muscles or the skin itself being thin. Derna Clinic offers various events, so please check the prices on the page below.

※Events may change or end without notice. If you can't find what you're looking for, please inquire for detailed guidance.
Q. For wrinkles that appear when I smile, is Botox suitable or is lifting better?
Wrinkles that only appear when smiling or frowning are often caused by repetitive movements of the facial muscles, so you might consider Botox to gently relax those muscles. On the other hand, if the wrinkles are due to sagging or thinning of the skin itself, treatments like Rejuran I or Eye Shurink that improve the skin's foundation or lift sagging tissue may be more necessary. It's common for both causes to be present, so it's best to determine the necessary approach through a diagnosis.
Q. I'm in my 20s and have developed fine lines around my eyes due to frequent rubbing and dry eyes. Is this aging?
Wrinkles around the eyes in your 20s are often not due to aging from collagen loss, but rather due to skin irritation and dryness caused by repetitive rubbing or dry eyes. However, if this irritation continues for a long time, it can affect the elastic fibers in the thin skin around the eyes, potentially leading to structural wrinkles later on. Therefore, if your eye skin is thin and sensitive, considering care early on is a good option regardless of age.
Q. Will getting Botox around the eyes make it so I can't smile or look awkward?
Botox does not completely paralyze the facial muscles around the eyes; rather, it helps to gently relax excessively repetitive movements to prevent deep wrinkles from forming. By selecting the dosage and product according to individual muscle conditions from various types of botulinum toxins like Coretox and Xeomin, you can expect to improve fine lines without making your expressions look unnatural.

Q. If I get Rejuran I for fine lines under my eyes, will my skin really thicken?
Rejuran I is a treatment that helps improve damaged skin tissue by injecting PN components extracted from salmon DNA into the dermal layer around the eyes. It is specialized for thin areas like the eyes, with a lower viscosity than Rejuran Healer. This component induces regenerative responses in the skin, gradually thickening the previously thin skin around the eyes, and you can expect to see gradual improvements in fine lines during this process. However, this is a gradual change, so the effects are often felt over multiple sessions rather than immediately.
Q. What is the difference between Eye Shurink and regular Shurink? Is it safe to use around the eyes?
Eye Shurink uses a thin and precise 'eye tip' designed specifically for the eye area, delivering ultrasound energy closely to the contours around the eyes. It is designed to closely fit the delicate curves of the eye area, which is difficult to access with regular tips. It is used to improve wrinkles caused by sagging under the eyes or drooping outer corners, and when performed with the dedicated tip and safety protocols, it can be relatively safe for the eye area.
Q. I have a serious problem with foundation settling under my eyes. What treatment is the most effective?
The settling of makeup is mostly caused by the thin and dry skin around the eyes, where foundation gets trapped in the fine lines. In this case, you might first consider Rejuran I to increase the thickness and moisture of the skin itself. If sagging is also present, Eye Shurink could be considered, and if expression lines are added, combining with Botox might also be an option. Since the causes are often complex, it's recommended to consult after diagnosing the condition of the eye area to determine the best combination.
Q. Why do eye creams not eliminate existing wrinkles around the eyes?
Eye creams can temporarily make wrinkles less prominent by providing surface moisture, but they have limitations in reversing structural wrinkles that have already formed due to damage to collagen and elastic fibers. The skin around the eyes is considered difficult to improve with home care alone, as it is thinner and has very few sebaceous glands, so a treatment approach that directly affects the dermal layer may be more effective.
Q. Is it possible to improve wrinkles and sagging eyelids in my 40s and 50s with dermatological treatments without surgery (upper blepharoplasty)?
If the loss of elasticity and sagging is in the early stages, non-surgical treatments like Rejuran I or Eye Shurink can be expected to improve. However, if the eyelid skin is sagging enough to cover the eyes, non-surgical treatments may have limitations, and in such cases, surgical approaches like upper blepharoplasty may need to be considered. It is important to confirm through a detailed diagnosis whether the degree of sagging is sufficient for treatment.
Q. What is the recommended frequency and duration of maintenance for eye wrinkle treatments (Botox, Rejuran I, Eye Shurink)?
Botox is often considered for re-treatment about every 3 to 6 months as the muscle relaxation effect gradually wears off, while Rejuran I is usually performed several times at regular intervals initially, followed by maintenance care. Eye Shurink maintains its effects for a certain period as collagen regeneration continues after treatment, but the duration may vary depending on the degree of sagging.
